Trutheism Community Code of Conduct

Our Commitment
Trutheism is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful community space where all seekers—regardless of background, belief, tradition, or identity—can engage in meaningful dialogue about universal wisdom and truth. This Code of Conduct sets expectations for all community members and defines how we maintain this shared commitment.
Core Values

Expected Behavior
We expect all community members to:
- Treat all people with respect and dignity
- Listen actively and seek to understand before responding
- Acknowledge and celebrate diverse perspectives and traditions
- Use inclusive language that welcomes all people
- Take responsibility for your words and actions
- Give and receive feedback constructively
- Challenge ideas respectfully, never attack individuals
- Respect others' boundaries and consent
- Assume good intent while addressing impact
- Support others in their journey of growth and understanding
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are not tolerated in the Trutheism community:
- Harassment or Bullying: Personal attacks, intimidation, or sustained negative behavior toward any individual or group
- Discrimination: Treating people unfairly based on identity, belief, background, or characteristics
- Hate Speech: Language that demeans, dehumanizes, or incites violence against any group
- Sexual Harassment: Unwelcome sexual comments, advances, or content
- Misinformation: Deliberately spreading false information to mislead or harm
- Spam: Excessive self-promotion or irrelevant content
- Doxing: Sharing others' private information without consent
- Exclusion: Deliberately excluding people from participation
- Threats or Violence: Any language suggesting harm to others
- Violating Privacy: Sharing others' communications or personal information without consent
- Disrespect of Traditions: Mockery or disrespect toward any wisdom tradition or spiritual practice
Community Spaces
This Code of Conduct applies to all Trutheism community spaces, including but not limited to:
- Our website and forums
- Discord server and channels
- Social media comments and discussions
- Patreon community area
- Virtual events and meetings
- Local chapter meetings
- Email communications
- Any other official Trutheism platforms
Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it:
- Email: [email protected] (private and confidential)
- Discord: Use the #report-incident channel
- Form: Submit a report through our website
- Anonymous: Reports can be made anonymously
Please include: what happened, when, who was involved, and any relevant context. We will investigate promptly and confidentially.
Investigation & Response
When we receive a report, we will:
- Investigate promptly and fairly
- Protect the privacy and safety of those involved
- Ensure no retaliation against reporters
- Take appropriate corrective action
- Communicate outcomes when possible
Consequences for Violations
Depending on severity and frequency, violations may result in:
- Warning: A direct message explaining the concern and expected behavior
- Temporary Suspension: Removal from community spaces for a set period (7-30 days)
- Permanent Ban: Removal from all Trutheism spaces for severe or repeated violations
- Legal Action: In cases of serious violations, we may report to appropriate authorities
Our goal is always education and restoration when possible, but the safety and wellbeing of our community takes priority.
Appealing Decisions
If you believe a moderation decision was unfair, you may appeal to:

- Include your account, the incident, and why you believe the decision was unfair
- Our appeals team will review within 14 days
Conflict Resolution
We encourage community members to:
- Communicate directly and respectfully when conflicts arise
- Seek to understand the other person's perspective
- Assume good intent
- Work toward mutually acceptable solutions
- Request mediation if direct communication isn't working
Accessibility & Inclusion
We are committed to making our community accessible to everyone:
- Provide content in multiple formats (text, video, audio)
- Use inclusive language that welcomes all people
- Accommodate different abilities and needs
- Provide trigger warnings when appropriate
- Be mindful of time zones and work schedules
- Offer translation services when possible
Moderators & Leadership
Our moderators and community leaders:
- Are trained in conflict resolution and cultural competency
- Hold themselves to the same standards as community members
- Act impartially and fairly
- Maintain confidentiality
- Are themselves accountable to this Code of Conduct
Continuous Improvement
This Code of Conduct is a living document. We regularly:
- Review feedback from community members
- Update policies based on emerging issues
- Share data on enforcement (anonymously)
- Invite input on improvements
